Amata
Amata – E-commerce Website Design
Amata is an e-commerce website concept for premium 100% A2 Gir Cow Bilona Ghee. The project focuses on translating the authenticity of traditional Indian ghee-making into a modern digital shopping experience. The primary objective was to create a premium online storefront that communicates product quality, showcases the brand's heritage, builds customer confidence, and makes purchasing simple and intuitive. The design direction combines a warm, earthy visual identity with a structured shopping experience. Rather than treating ghee as just another packaged product, the experience positions it around tradition, quality, family consumption, and mindful food choices. The core design question: How might we create a premium digital shopping experience that communicates traditional product authenticity while helping customers confidently choose and purchase ghee online?

About the brand
Amata is presented as a premium ghee brand centered on A2 Gir Cow Bilona Ghee and traditional preparation methods. Its brand narrative draws on Indian food heritage, careful craftsmanship, and a connection to family traditions.
The brand story includes traditional Bilona production and family roots in Jamadoba, Dhanbad, Jharkhand, with founder Abhishek Singh associated with the brand narrative.
The digital experience needed to communicate this heritage without making the website feel outdated. The objective was to balance cultural authenticity with the clarity, usability, and visual refinement expected from a contemporary e-commerce brand.
Challenges
Problem Statement
Customers shopping for premium food products online cannot always evaluate authenticity, preparation methods, or product quality before making a purchase.
For a traditional product such as A2 Gir Cow Bilona Ghee, a product image and price alone may not answer the questions that influence purchasing decisions.
Customers may want to understand:
What makes this ghee different from regular ghee?
How is the product prepared?
What does the brand stand for?
What product information is available before purchase?
How easy is it to find the right product and complete an order?
The design challenge was to bring product information, brand storytelling, trust-building content, and purchasing actions together in a clear and cohesive experience.

Impact & results
The design is intended to deliver improvements in the following areas:
Stronger brand differentiation
A consistent premium identity and a clearly presented brand story make the offering easier to distinguish.
Improved information accessibility
Structured product details help customers locate essential information more easily.
More coherent shopping journey
Connected discovery, product detail, cart, and checkout experiences provide a clear path to purchase.
Consistent cross-device experience
Responsive layouts support product exploration across desktop and mobile devices.
Key Takeways
1. Product storytelling should support decision-making. Brand heritage is most effective when it complements practical product information and purchasing actions.
2. Trust needs to be designed into the experience. Product transparency, accurate claims, clear policies, and authentic customer feedback should work together.
3. Visual consistency contributes to perceived quality. A coherent palette, imagery style, typography, and component system make the digital storefront feel more professional.
4. E-commerce UX extends beyond the homepage. The entire journey, from discovery to checkout confirmation, must work as one connected experience.
5. Design success requires validation. A polished interface is a foundation; usability testing and real performance data are needed to establish measurable impact.
Final Outcome
The Amata project establishes a proposed end-to-end e-commerce experience for a premium A2 Gir Cow Bilona Ghee brand. It brings together product discovery, heritage-led storytelling, transparent product information, consistent visual design, and a structured purchase journey.
The project demonstrates my approach to translating a product's identity and customer needs into a cohesive digital experience, balancing visual appeal with usability and business objectives.
